Welcome to the new www.culturalstudies.net website! The new version of Cultural Studies Central is in the works and the changes are already appearing for your use. I'm presently creating a new interface for the 21st century that will be online a little later this summer. You are already seeing gradual enhancements to the infrastructure of the site that will continue until the "unveiling" of the new "look."You now have the capablility to search the entire site, and to post automatically to the CSC Grafitti Wall - and that's just the first step. The new site will feature fully automated threaded discussion boards devoted to special topics including reading groups and study groups, an updated and upgraded section of original cultural studies analysis and opinion (that we haven't named yet!), much more original analysis and quick access to full text articles and essays, a "cafe" where visitors can browse recommended (and reviewed) books and records (and where they can push a button to order themselves a pizza!), and a LYNX-friendly page of links for those using screen readers or shell accounts (or for those who just love Lynx!).
That's just what you'll get this summer. In the future, we expect to add true multimedia to the site to make it a treat for all the senses! (All multi-media will be accompanied by accessibility features. Everyone will ALWAYS be able to fully enjoy CSC.)
We also want to make CSC your "portal" to the electronic cultural studies world, so you will have immediate access to the other most prominent CS sites and discussion lists right from the www.culturalstudies.net front page.
By summer's end, the entire site will be completely updated, enriched, and transformed into a very special gathering spot for CS friends around the world.
The new features are appearing, one by one. To watch the transformation, please visit the "classic" CSC site and dig into the best cultural studies resources and some of the most original CS analysis on the 'net! Thank you so much for visiting and please submit your suggestions for what you'd like to see here!! CSC is meant to fulfill YOUR CS needs, so let me know what those needs are. (And don't worry; Mona stays!)
Go to CSC!
